Advertising Predictions

With the economy still trying to pick up its shambles, the advertising arena has been trying to stay afloat. While Americans are constantly adjusting to the new environment thrusted upon them, advertising has had to make some adjustments as well. From fewer ads in fewer mediums, to more creative developments resulting in a more cost effective manner, advertising has focused heavily on the world wide web.
Over the past few years we have seen an increase in advertisers reaching out to the internet for viewership. The internet allows for free and/or cheaper forms for advertising. In addition there are many software companies that have the capacity to target a specific audience that allows advertisers to place their ads strategically allowing for an increase in viewers. These softwares are based on information gathered by websites and the tracking numbers that they provide.
While the economy has slowly been picking up more momentum, I believe that this upcoming year will still be the year of the experimentation on the internet.
I think that this upcoming year, advertisers will start to create new softwares to directly target more viewers. Advertisers will find new ways to track people and where they are browsing. This will help advertisers logistically place their adds to create my tracking.
Interactive advertisements I think will also be on an increase. New games, and competitive motives will entice more viewerships so advertisers will be fooling around with getting users more involved with their advertisements.
This upcoming year will be a year of experimentation and trial & error. Some will work and most will fail, but the the ones that do work will help to transform the way advertisers use the internet in a variety of different ways.
